If it isn't broke, leave it alone! But if there's a problem, fix it! #AmWriting #AmListening

No one is infallible. We all make mistakes!

And no matter what you do, you can't please everyone!

But it doesn't mean you shouldn't try...

Will I still get some poor reviews, absolutely! But when readers complained, I decided to listen. Did I change the basis of my novel, NO! Did I address the issues I could, absolutely!

Did it make a difference! Well, you tell me. There is still one poor review on top, one of the oldest reviews. Unfortunately, readers still like to 'up' one-star reviews, even when the one-star review doesn't make any sense.

Not to complain, but how can you look at a book that starts the description with: A passionate romantic-suspense of love, betrayal, and obsession, She Belongs to Me will have you falling in love and wondering if you can trust anyone right up to the last page.

And then like a review that starts with: "Up front, I must say that romantic mysteries do not appeal to me. I don't mind a little romance mixed into a mystery story, but when it is the central theme I don't care for it."

Why would someone read a passionate romantic suspense about love, betrayal, and obsession if they don't like romantic mysteries?

BUT...skipping over that review, I addressed other constructive reviews. I admit; I'm just me, and She Belongs to Me was my first book. So I went back and smoothed out the areas of concern, updated the material, and even freshened up the cover. And now...if you look at the most current reviews, I have a product that more readers love.

So, again...whatever you do, don't be afraid to listen to your audience!

Full Description

A passionate romantic-suspense of love, betrayal, and obsession, She Belongs to Me will have you falling in love and wondering if you can trust anyone right up to the last page.

Charlotte police officer Jordan Monroe is used to being in control. Ever since his father died, he has provided for his mother and sisters and even hired his two brothers-in-law to help run his successful construction company. On a chance business trip, however, he meets the one person who throws his life into a whirlwind--Jaynee.

Jaynee has lived a tragic life and has sworn off all men. That is until a rugged southern gentleman lands in her seating area, refusing to take no for an answer. From the moment they meet, Jordan sweeps her off her feet, assuring her that happiness exists. But can she really escape her past?

Five years later, Jordan finds Jaynee on their back porch with a gunshot wound to the head. While Jaynee lies in a coma, Jordan has to go back to their beginning and figure out what went wrong. Did he push his wife to the edge, or has her past come back to haunt them?

"As in any fairytale, everything good must come to an end." ENTANGLED DREAMS:

Now, if you’ve read any of my novels or excerpts, you know I don’t do happy-go-lucky beginnings; and as in any fairytale, a little rain must fall, or in the case of my stories, I prefer a monsoon. This week’s excerpt: But alas, as in any good fairytale, everything good and wonderful must come to an end. After the tragic accident that snatched her mother away from Alexandra, her father moved them away from the beaches of Destin to another beach in Florida. Cocoa Beach. Cocoa Beach was loud, the water murky, and there were no weekend adventures as there had been in Destin. Her father married her evil stepmother, Lilith, who Alexandra was certain was a witch with her long, black as midnight hair and pale-white skin as if she’d never seen sunlight. Her father had admitted he wasn’t in love with Cruella, as she had come to think of the witchy woman, but that he’d wanted Alexandra to have a mother and siblings. Well, she definitely got that. The k

To prologue or not to prologue, that is the question. Readers, please weigh in!

Personally, I love prologues. They get you right into the action whether it was in the past or something exciting that is to come. But that’s exactly why most agents’ blogs I’ve read say not to use them. Paraphrasing…“If you need a prologue, then your story must not be strong enough…” Hmm … well, I like them, and I use them. But I’m curious what readers think, and I’d love you to weigh in. AND, if you have some great examples, please leave the title in the comment section. Now … here’s what I’ve noticed. Plenty of bestselling books have used them, even though they aren’t always called prologues . Same diff in my opinion. My biggest example is ‘Twilight’. If that little blurb wasn’t in the beginning, I don’t think I would have made it through the first chapter. How about movies? I don’t watch a lot. But I’ve started to notice how many have “prologues”. I also don’t have cable, but I have NetFlix, and hubby has just started watching ‘Breaking Bad’. Okay … I
