Readers, did you know you can download TEN books at a time with Kindle Unlimited? #AmReading

Amazon sent the book-loving world into a tailspin with its announcement of Kindle Unlimited. This service isn't the first of its kind, but this is Amazon, so you know it's gonna be awesome. That's my opinion, of course, but I'm very happy with the benefits and service I receive from Amazon. I've had several Kindles, and they just keep getting better and better.

And now...they have Kindle Unlimited, which gives me an unlimited supply of books for $9.99 a month! Considering that I read three or more books a week, with a price tag up to $9.99 (I don't pay more than $10 for an eBook), this is an awesome deal for someone like me. Oh, and I listen to another two to three books a month on Audible, so that's AWESOME! I didn't even have to do anything special. After I borrowed a book, the audio book popped into my Audible app. So, I'm reading one book at night...I'm listening to another book while I run errands. AND, if I want, I open my Kindle, and it'll sync to where I stopped listening.

It's as though I have a valet. Imagine that...
Me: "Oh, sir...would you find where I left off?"
Book Valet: "Of course, madam."
Me: :)

I've heard some readers say, "But there are a lot of FREE books on Amazon..." Sure...but, there aren't a lot of FREE second, third, and fourth books in a series free. Now, if you love a first book, especially those evil authors who leave you with a cliffhanger ending--I only have one of those, but I warn readers.

I've also heard, "But I want to own my books." Well, me too! But, not all of them. Yes, there are a select number of books that I've read over and over, but mostly, eh...once is enough. Just like Netflix, if I want to re-watch a movie, I can. If I watch it and love it, I can still buy it.

Now...onto my last note. I LOVE short stories! Just like a movie, sometimes I don't have a lot of time. I just want a quick snack before I go to bed at night or during lunch. BUT, I'm not too keen on paying $2.99 for them. Oooh...with Kindle Unlimited, I can check out TEN BOOKS A MONTH! So, just like the library, I don't have to worry about a book being too short or if I don't like it. I can go shopping on Amazon, find a few reads, and have them all waiting on my Kindle, iPhone, iPad, or other devices that I can download the Amazon App. If you don't know how to do this click here: Amazon.com - Read eBooks using the FREE Kindle Reading App on Most Devices

So, if you like reading as much as I do, why not check it out? Kindle Unlimited is FREE for thirty days, so you have nothing to lose.

And yes, some of my books are there. So whether you like mystery or paranormal-romance, hop on the FREE introductory wagon for at least a month...and read until your heart's content.

To prologue or not to prologue, that is the question. Readers, please weigh in!

Personally, I love prologues. They get you right into the action whether it was in the past or something exciting that is to come. But that’s exactly why most agents’ blogs I’ve read say not to use them. Paraphrasing…“If you need a prologue, then your story must not be strong enough…” Hmm … well, I like them, and I use them. But I’m curious what readers think, and I’d love you to weigh in. AND, if you have some great examples, please leave the title in the comment section. Now … here’s what I’ve noticed. Plenty of bestselling books have used them, even though they aren’t always called prologues . Same diff in my opinion. My biggest example is ‘Twilight’. If that little blurb wasn’t in the beginning, I don’t think I would have made it through the first chapter. How about movies? I don’t watch a lot. But I’ve started to notice how many have “prologues”. I also don’t have cable, but I have NetFlix, and hubby has just started watching ‘Breaking Bad’. Okay … I...

"I’ll show you things that will take your breath away" Excerpt from LAND OF THE NOONDAY SUN

When two strangers have nothing left but their dreams, they must forge a relationship in Nantahala, North Carolina, a small town known as Land of the Noonday Sun . Excerpt: As soon as he set her on the ground, she heard the waterfall. She gazed at the pounding waters as they fell over the rock and hit the stream below. “Wow, this is … so beautiful and so close, right off the road, near our house … amazing. He smiled. “This is nothing, Cassie, hardly anyone even comes here. I’ll show you some waterfalls and trails over the next few weeks that will take your breath away.” Cassandra couldn’t contain her smile or the feelings rushing through her veins. He wanted to show her his state. It was beautiful she realized, and the thought of discovering it with him made it even more exciting. She was certain he was correct about taking her breath away, but she was also sure it wouldn’t ju st be the wa terfalls. Land of the Noonday Sun is Book Three of t...
